People can have so much emotion stored up inside that they don’t know what to do about it. They can feel anxious, have racing thoughts, feel like they just can’t settle no matter what they do. In therapy, we will explore and understand the meaning behind thoughts and feelings you are having and slow everything down.
At times I use breathing and grounding exercises to help you feel calmer and more easily talk about the things you are experiencing inside yourself.
Transitions, such as a new job, a new baby, a move, getting married, a breakup, a death can bring about a world of upheaval inside. Whether the change leans positive or negative, people can feel more emotional, experience an increase in anxiety. All change causes disruption in the status quo.
When we talk together about your experience, we will understand what about this change is impacting you and how. Maybe this change is touching on something from your past or there are worries about how things will work out.
I will be your companion as you process (or work out, make sense of) what you’re going through. Whatever is going on inside of your mind, we will make sense of it together.
